Sometimes referred to as ‘sphereing’ or ‘globe-riding’, ‘sphere zorbing’ is a moderately extreme sport that was invented in New Zealand in 2000 by a guy named Andrew Akers, who was allegedly inspired by the famous sketch by Leonardo da Vinci with a standing man in a circle with his arms outstretched.
Sphere zorbing involves an uncontrolled descent down a hill while rolling inside of an inflatable plastic ball, mounted inside of which, using thousands of tiny strings, is another smaller ball. When rolling down hill, the ball can reach speeds of up to 50 km/h.
Zorbing is an incredible and totally unique experience, full of unforgettable fun and excitement.
