The Berlin Museum Island is one of the most important museum complexes in the world. It has been World Heritage of the Unesco since 1999 and gives an overview of 5.000 years of civilization and art in 5 different museums.
We would like to offer you the most spectacular items on Museum Island: The Pergamon Museum and the New Museum. In the Pergamon Museum you can admire the gigantic altar of ancient Greek depicting the mighty war between Gods and Giants, also we can show you one of the original gates of the mythic city of Babylon (Ishtar Gate). In the New Museum you will be able to see the magnificent reconstruction of this war ruin by David Chipperfield who left old items of the construction next to modern additions. The absolute highlight of this museum is the bust of the famous Egyptian Pharao Queen Nefertiti who has been in the collection of the Berlin museums for more than a century.
