This week Austin has handed over the mantle to someone a lot more experienced and knowledgeable – Dr Ichak Adizes, one of the world leading experts in improving the performance of companies through fundamental change.

Below clip is more than a two minute tip, but it is a video worth watching for every organisation!

When you’re company is facing a problem or a change, it is crucial to have a look at, and redefine the mission: Who are we? What are we trying to do and where are we going?

And how do you do that? Here are some tips from Adisez:

1. Block out a day in your calendar every month where you invite the top management people in your company. Make sure to make it the SAME DAY every month. You need everyone to be committed to this meetings- it is not about finding time, it is about making time! Same day every month and everyone needs to be there!

2. Rule number one of the meeting: Do not have an agenda. Have a topic that you are going to discuss. An agenda will turn it into a committing meeting where all the points needs to be discussed, analyzed and evaluated. This is not what you are trying to achieve with these meetings. Which brings us to rule number two: Do not make any decision! Just talk! Where are we going? What is the competition doing? Share ideas! But don’t make any decisions.

3. Dream Sessions. Every human need to dream! Dreams relieve the fears of the past and instigate hopes of the future. You need to have periodic dreaming to keep the company moving. Where are we going? What do we want? What are the possibilities? Dreaming as a team, rather than dreaming as an individual entrepreneur will it even more effective.
