Purposeful Play
Back in 2010, IBM conducted a major study and asked 1500 CEO’s around the world. Questions: What was the single most important quality need to possess to be a successful leader going forward? The answer - Creativity. Travel Out There's Team Building Workshops are designed to be incorporated within a conference programme to encourage delegates to 'reignite' their creative edge and connect though shared experiences.
At Travel Out There we do not believe in selling bespoke packages or off the shelf experiences. We like to give our clients exciting and interactive Purposeful Play Team Building Workshops and inspirational concepts that we then work closely with you to tailor make a proposal to your exact needs and requirements.
3 options we have run in the past are as follows:
What all great leaders do is generally not look at what has been done in the past – instead they have a flexibility of thought and entertain new ways of looking at things. Essentially they are quite child like..’dreamers’. Untouched – naive in outlook, Not scared to give things a go! Exactly what you used to be as a passionate and enthusiasitic child. In the second part of the workshop, we want you to create your own prototype of a game using these everyday items: (a task that we hope will spark your child like imagination and creativity).
- 1 small roll of duct tape (e.g. 10 yards)
- 6 decorator balloons (e.g. 12”)
- 12 wooden clothespins
- 1 newspaper
- 6 party cups (e.g. 18 oz., plastic, red or blue)
- Thin rope (e.g. 1/8 inch, 20-30 feet in length)
- 12 drinking straws
- 1 small bag of uncooked rice or beans
- note: use of scissors permitted

THE GOAL
- The aim of these games, in relationship to business, is to encourage you to look at environment. surroundings. resources and see them from a new perspective. Assign them new value and new meaning.

Trust |
Everyone must take a moment to close their eyes and reflect on the best moments of their lives. Once the participants have created their montage of wonderful experiences in their minds they have to narrow them down to only one! Keeping their eyes closed, ask each participant to take a moment to decide what 30 seconds of their life they would want to relive if they only had thirty seconds left in their life. Each participant then writes down and drawer in their MYPAD (journal provided by Travel Out There) shares their 30 seconds with the group and explains why they chose that particular moment. |

Storytelling |
In collaboration with the client we create a question that is specially tailored to their objectives and mission. We refine this question to make sure the client gets the information they want from their audience. When the event starts, we simply ask the audience this question. Then the magic happens... By creating an intimate setting we inspire the audience to discover and formulate their own unique answers in an autonomous way. This results in an explosion of highly relevant data. We call this data: The Cream of the Crop of Ideas. We then stimulate and support the audience to share their answers. This shared experience ignites instant networking and fuels engagement and participation throughout the rest of the event. After the event We analyse the data into powerful information. Providing the client with strategic insights to stay connected with their audience after the event. |
