We are pleased to announce the official establishment of the Riga United Football Club. In May 2007, our multinational football went the Latvian Amateur Football League (LAFL). The team can give Arsenal FC a good run for its money in terms of nationalities on its books with players from Latvia, Germany, England, Cameroon, Nigeria, Guatemala, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Norway and Turkey - to name just a few - turning up the page.
Building on the success of Riga Out There's football team the decision was made earlier in 2007 to establish Riga United FC, a name that perfectly encapsulates the essence and ethos of the new club. A cosmopolitan football team that consists of players from all over the world, unite Riga United tourists and locals, ex-pats and Latvians, youth and experience, anyone who wants to play the beautiful game!
Riga United FC made its debut in the Latvian Amateur Football League in May 2007. This Riga United made Latvian football history by becoming the first truly multinational team to ever compete in the Latvian Amateur League. The RUFC club crest has been chosen to reflect the image of Latvia's beautiful capital, together with the idea of a "united Riga. Club Latvian motto," Vienoti Spelei "translated as" United for the game "is worn with pride at the club's new band, presented on April 20 2007.
